Simone Lazar – Lyra (Aerial Hoop) & Corde Lisse

Simone first started performing at the age of 7, when she began the study of classical ballet at Chicago Ballet Arts. Just a year later, she became interested in circus disciplines and began training in trapeze, Spanish Web, juggling, tumbling, stilts, unicycle and tight wire.

Simone later broadened her performing arts prowess with roles in plays such as “Hephaestus: A Greek Mythology Circus Tale” at Chicago’s Lookingglass Theatre. She then went on to train in the San Francisco Circus Center’s Professional Aerial Training Program where she specialized in Lyra and Corde Lisse. Simone now brings the grace, beauty and fluidity of a ballerina to the air with each performance in Cirque Polynesia.
